Why Should You Take The Motorcycle Safety Course
Motorcycle riding is an incredible and exhilarating experience, but unfortunately accidents occur on a much too frequent basis.
Should You Take Our Course?
It's a common question, particularly if you've previously had informal motorcycle training, previous riding experience, or just feel there isn't really much more to learn.
If your asking yourself the question, "should I take the course?" please take a moment to read the following information. It could quite literally save your life.
Ninety - two percent (92%) of motorcycle riders involved in accidents were self-taught or learned from family or friends. This is a frightening statistic.

Did you know?
- The typical motorcycle accident allows the motorcyclist just less than 2 seconds to complete all collision avoidance actions.
We teach & practice specific accident avoidance maneuvers.
- When traveling at more than 25 kph, in a right hand curve, you push right on the handlebar to go right.
We teach and practice counter steering, making you a better rider.
- Your more likely to be involved in a motorcycle accident on short trips associated with shopping, errands, meeting friends, entertainment or recreation, and the accident is likely to be close to home.
We teach you how to safely enjoy those short daily rides.
- In single vehicle accidents, motorcycle rider error was the precipitating factor in about two-thirds of the cases, with the typical error being a slide out and fall due to over braking or running wide on a curve due to excess speed or under-cornering.
We teach and practice safe braking and proper cornering techniques.
- Seventy-three percent of accidents involving motorcycle riders used no eye protection, and it is likely that this contributed in impairment of vision delaying hazard detection.
We teach correct protective eyewear, outerwear, helmet use and why.
- Motorcycle riders in accidents showed significant collision avoidance problems. Most riders would over brake and skid the rear wheel, and under brake the front wheel greatly reducing collision avoidance deceleration. The ability to counter steer and swerve was essentially absent.
We teach and practice proper braking techniques and collision avoidance maneuvers.
- Your front brake provides more than 75% of your stopping power.
We teach and practice front & rear braking.
- Never, never, never, use the front brake in a slow turn!
We teach you why and demonstrate the results if you do.
- Proper use of the fiction zone makes you a better and safer rider.
We teach use what it is and how to use it.
- There's a very good reason for always stopping in first gear.
We teach you why then practice it.
- It's mandatory to have fun while training.
Well, it's not mandatory but we sure do try.
We could go on; the above only offers a glimpse of what we cover in class and on the range. We hope this provides some insight into why riders, even experienced riders take our course.
